Mama of one of di 61 pipo wey lose dia lives for tanker explosion for Niger State on Sunday break down in tears as she share wit BBC News Pidgin di plans wey her son bin get bifor im death.

8 September na black Sunday for di pipo of Lapai-Agaie local goment area of Niger State wit di loss of 61 pipo for one tragic accident wey involve tanker wey dey loaded wit petrol and one trailer wey dey carry cattle.

According to di National Emergency Management Agency (NASEMA), na 61 pipo die as at Monday, 9 September.

Dem say some of dem burn beyond recognition while eight pipo dey currently receive treatment.

NEMA say 43 cattle also burn.

Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) say di fuel tanker vehicle collide wit one truck wey dey carry travellers and cattle.

Di accident according to eyewitness accounts also add say bad road for di area also cause di incident.

Aisha Usman say her son Adamu Usman na di pesin wey bin dey take care of her and di family wen her husband die sometime ago.

“I lose my son for dat tragic incident. I bin lose im papa not too long ago and now I don lose my son too,” Aisha tok as she break down in tears.

Di explosion wey occur along Lapai-Agaie Bida road also affect one pickup wey bin dey carry traders of Babba community for Katcha local goment area wey bin dey return home from market.

Meanwhile, two wives wey dey married to di same man, Muhammadu Audu, dey also grieve di loss of dia husband wey die for di explosion.

Dem still dey in shock and find am difficult to come to terms say dia breadwinner don die.

“Dis na test from God. We no get any plan aside wetin God don design for us. E take am from us. E leave us wit orphans, we no get any any power except Allahu,” one of di wives, Hadishetu Audu, tok.

“I get four children wey e leave for us and my co wife get one pikin. My husband na di only one wey dey responsible for wetin we dey chop and drink.”

‘Make goment fix our road’

Village head of Babba, Muhammad Usman, dey call on goment to fix dia bad road wey e say na di reason for di accident.

“Three pipo die from dis community. One of dem don marry, two neva marry. Di married one get children.

“I no fit describe di pain we dey feel for dis community and na sake of bad road we don lose many pipo.”
