Di GCM therefore, consider di nature of dioffence committed by di ex rating, im plea of guilty and plea in mitigation of punishment as well as di legal advice of di Judge Advocate in arriving at di verdict.”

According to Gusau, afta di trial, di court find Abbas guilty and dismiss am wit imediate effect from February 7, 2023, adding dat dem place Abbas on open arrest pending di judgment.

“Accordingly, afta proceedings, di GCM find Ex Seaman Abbas Haruna M5759 guilty on all counts. Based on dis, dem reduce im sentence from Reduction in Rate Seaman to Ordinary Seaman on Count One and Dismissal wit Ignominy on Counts 2 and 3 wit effect from 7 February 2023,” e add.
