Phase two go start for UK, USA and Italy on 15 November, while Phase 3 go begin for Nigeria and di rest of di world for 1 December, 2024.
For im continued effort to serve di Nigerian public more efficiently and create functional standards wey meet global standards, di Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) don launch one new contactless and issuance process wey go start from 1 November, 2024.

How to apply for di contactless passport renewal process
NIS say Nigerians go fit renew dia passport by themselves by downloading di NIS mobile app on dia phone, once di app don dey available for dia region or dem fit apply on dia website.
Once dem download di app or visit dia website, make applicants follow all di steps wey dey outlined, and e include:
- Create profile: Applicant wey wan renew dia passport go need register wit valid email.
- Eligibility check: Take one quick eligibility test to ensure say dia passport qualify for renewal.
- Identify details: Provide dia National Identification Number (NIN) plus dia current passport number for verification.
- Personal information and document upload: Enta dia bio-data and upload necessary documents like NIN, birth certificate, local goment certificate, among odas.
- Biometric capture: Applicants go now fit use dia mobile device to capture dia fingerprint biometrics.
- Make payment: complete di online payment to finalize di application process.
- Submit application and wait for processing.

- Letter of identification from Local Government/State of origin or residence or National Identity Card
