BBC Pidgin notice say di price of one litre of petrol for NNPC fuel stations for Lagos na N1,025 wey be 27 naira increase from di former price of N998. For Abuja, di price rise from N1,030 to N1,060, wey be 30 naira increase.
As usual, other major petroleum marketers don also jerk up dia pump prices.
Dis development dey happen after just about two weeks wey di NNPCL begin sell petrol for N1,030 on October 9, an increase from N897.
Petrol price for Nigeria bin dey at N197 per litre until President Bola Tinubu announce on May 29, 2023 say goment no go dey pay petrol subsidy again. After di announcement, marketers raise petrol price to N540 within 24 hours. Later di price reach N617, den e reach N897 for September and N1,030 for October bifor dis new increment now.
Latest petrol price for different parts of Nigeria
- North West: NNPC dey sell for 1,070 while oda marketers for Katsina, Kano, Kaduna and Sokoto dey sell at between 1,120 -1,500.
- North Central: Di price na between N1,060 to N1,100 for NNPCL stations, while odas dey sell for between N1,300 and N1,500.
- North East: Reports say for Adamawa state, pipo dey buy petrol for1,300
- South-South: NNPC dey sell fuel at N1,300 per litre for Bayelsa State, while odas dey sell between N1,450 and N1,500. In Port Harcourt, di Rivers State capital, di price no too dey different as private fueling stations dey sell fuel between N1,250 and N1,450 while black marketers dey sell at over N1,500. For Edo State, NNPC dey sell at N1,190 while other filling stations dey sell at N1300 and above depending on where you buy from.
- South East: For Onitsha wey be di biggest commercial city for di south east region, petrol na between N1,200 and N1,250 for private stations. NNPC dey sell at N1,100.
- South West: Di price of petrol for both di NNPC and private stations dey slightly above N1000 around di urban areas. Though di price fit dey as high as N1,150 wen you enter di less urban areas like Ikorodu, Badagry, etc.
Wetin IPMAN tok
Abubakar Garima, di national president of di Independent Petroleum Marketers of Nigeria (IPMAN) tok say dia hands no dey inside dis recent increase bicos di association neva start to dey offtake petrol directly from Dangote Refinery, but dem don start di process.
Remember say NNPC bin tok say dem no go continue to be di sole offtaker of petrol from di Dangote Refinery, rather, dem don throw am open say any marketer fit go negotiate directly wit di company.
Oga Garima say di negotiations dey ongoing.
“Di process be say we need to come as a group bicos dem (Dangote Refinery) tok say dem no go deal wit us individually. So we don register one company im name na IPMAN Green Energy, and we don submit di particulars of di company to di refinery make dem register us and start to dey supply us products. But up till today, we neva dey able to register di company wit di refinery. Na dia we dey now,” Garima tok for one interview wit Channels TV on Wednesday morning.
Dis response na in reply to wetin Aliko Dangote – di owner of Dangote Refinery – bin tok on Monday, say NNPC and petrol marketers no suppose to still dey import petrol wen im refinery fit dey supply all Nigeria need.
“Immediately dem register dis company and start to dey give us products, I dey tell you, all dis issues go dey resolved.”
“Na we be di real retailers for di kontri. We dey retail more dan 80% of petroleum products for di kontri, so if Dangote gree and register our company, evribodi go see di difference.
