Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya tell BBC Pidgin say di incident happun on July 19 wen Eyinatayo Iluyomade drop note for di bank.

“Di boy drop note inside bank for Sabo area of di state say armed robbers go visit di bank.

“Which kain joke be dat. Na for dia dem gbab am carry am go police station,” DSP Omisanya tok.

Banks shutdown for di whole day

Di matter come up for court on 15 August wia di police arraign di comedian for magistrate court.

Police prosecutor, Akao Moremi, tell court say di defendant drop note for di bank say “by 1 pm on di same date, im armed robbery gang members go come rob di bank. 

Moremi say di note na security threat to di bank branch for Sabo Ondo town and also cause all di banks wey dey operate for di area to shut down for the whole day.

But di defence counsel, Hawkins Akinnugba, apply for im bail – dis na di comedian plead not guilty to di charge against am.

“Dis na di first time I dey play di prank for Ondo. No gang dey come rob any bank. Na just note I write,” e tok

Magistrate Mosunmola Ikujuni adjourn di matter by one month to hear di bail application.
