We dey happy say afta serious negotiations and consultations both owner states don agree terms and dissolve di joint ownership of LAUTECH,” na wetin di executive Secretary of NUC, Abubakar Rasheed, announce for Abuja on Friday.
Di joint ownership by di two states cause wahala for di university, like workers strike, sake of say di irregular payment of their salaries and shortage of funds for di operations of di university.
To address di crisis, NUC set up committee wey begin work on March 15. Afta several meetings and interactions with di govnors of di two states and other stakeholders for di university, di committee come up wit memorandum of understanding.
Oga Rasheed say dem sign di memorandum last week wey give di legal power to transfer di ownership of LAUTECH to Oyo State Goment and dia College of Health Sciences to Osun State Goment.
Oga Rasheed add say di locations of di College of Health Sciences and di University help to make decision “onto say di Collage dey for Osogbo , Osun State while di University dey for Ogbomosho, Oyo State. “
According to Oga Rasheed, di ownership of di hospital and di university, no be wit immediate effect.
Im say henceforth Oyo state goment go take full responsibility to run di university for Ogbomosho while “di same tin go happun for Osun State wit di College of Medicine for Osogbo.”
History of LAUTECH
Na 1990 dem establish LAUTECH by di old Oyo State Government wit di main campus for Ogbomoso. Later dem set up di teaching hospital for Osogbo.
For 1991 Wen dem create Osun State was out of di old Oyo State, both states come became joint owners of di institution.
